The U.S.– Colombia Free Trade Agreement took effect on May 15, 2012, and allows for the removal  of the 20% import tariff on U.S.-made mattresses imported into Colombia and a 3-6% tariff on mattresses imported into the U.S. from Colombia.  This was one of three trade deals that Congress approved last fall. The other two agreements were with South Korea (which took effect in March) and Panama (the implementation date of which has not been announced).
