Connecticut Senate Passes Mattress Recycling Legislation

By a 32-4 vote, the Connecticut Senate passed legislation today that requires mattress manufacturers to set up a consumer-financed system for recycling used mattresses. The bill that the Senate passed addresses objections that ISPA had raised to the most onerous aspects of the bill as originally introduced, and most importantly eliminates the requirement that mattress manufacturers fund the recycling program.

The bill must still pass the Connecticut House.
